Realme X2, X2 Pro are getting the Android 10 stable update with Realme UI

The Realme X2 and Realme X2 Pro were launched globally some time ago. The Realme X2 (review) had fiery midrange specs with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G, a 64MP quad-camera and up to 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. The X2 Pro (review), on the other hand, served the flagship space by bumping up the specs with a Snapdragon 855+ and up to 12 GB of RAM. Both phones served as Realme’s hottest devices for the last quarter of 2019, and now we have some good news for owners of both of these phones: an Android 10 update is coming your way after the conclusion of the opt-in beta.

Both the phones launched in the market with Android 9 Pie out of the box and OPPO’s ColorOS 6.1 on top. The fact that Realme phones run ColorOS has long been a source of confusion as most people dismiss Realme as an OPPO sub-brand because of this: while it started as one, Realme branched out of OPPO in 2018. As such, Realme is now rolling out Realme UI to its device lineup, and the latest devices to receive Realme UI based on Android 10 are the Realme X2 and the Realme X2 Pro.

Realme UI in its current state is still very similar to OPPO’s new ColorOS 7 interface, albeit some visual differences still exist. Subsequent updates will probably distance it even further from ColorOS, however. The update to Android 10 also comes with all of the improvements that the latest version of Android includes, as well as all of the newest ColorOS 7/Realme UI interface and functionality improvements.

The update for both devices has now been announced in Realme’s forums (Realme X2, Realme X2 Pro), and is now rolling out over-the-air, at least for the Indian market. As such, it should roll out to your device in the following hours or days. Users are also discussing both updates in our forums, so if you can’t get it to show up, then go ahead and take a look at the advice there.
